Pat Quinn’s petition and referendum drives and political career succeeded thanks to the tireless efforts and sacrifices of his two brothers, Tom and John.
Growing up in Hinsdale, Illinois, the three brothers were all competitive in sports and enjoyed spirited debates on public policy issues.
Tom Quinn has been an attorney since 1979 and his proudest moment in the courtroom was winning a legal settlement in a major case that targeted housing discrimination in the south suburbs of Chicago. Tom is married to Eileen Furey and they have three children: Thomas, Brian, and Clare. Thomas is married to Alexandra DeSorbo and they have one son, Thomas Louis. Brian is married to Kathryn and they have one son, Michael, and one daughter, Genevieve.
John Quinn has been an American history teacher at Fenwick High School (Oak Park) since 1980 and is an Illinois Hall of Fame basketball coach. He has also received the Golden Apple Award for Excellence in Teaching. John is married to Anne Cusick and they have three daughters: Charlotte, Maria, and Catherine.
